Finding a solar thermal installer wasn't easy, without YouGen it would have been more impossible still. Few companies wished to consider our specific requirements and discuss these with us. One company cancelled a quote and refused to deal with us further when I questioned why our combi-boiler would be configured as a system boiler instead of using it to heat (or not) DHW by modulating the gas supply on demand as it was designed to. Another insisted that flat plates were preferable to evacuated tubes for our (almost exactly) East and West facing roofs. On questioning it turned out they only installed flat plate systems. With the summer rapidly advancing and levels of frustration running high PlumbSolar rescued the day. The large volume of very positive feedback on YouGen was encouraging and as it turned out, a true indication of the relationship we were to have with the company and Kai Casswell in particular. This is a family run business who clearly believe in what they do, they have a highly professional and knowledgeable approach to both implementation and customer relations. Being honest I suspect I've been a high maintenance customer having planned our solar thermal installation some years since with clear ideas of what we were looking for. Kai has however, throughout the process patiently handled my many queries and provided helpful advice on a timely basis. I'd have no hesitation in using PlumbSolar again or recommending them I hope that PlumbSolar will continue to thrive to everyone's benefit.

At last, someone who understands the solar thermal system!! After several attempts at resolving problems with my solar thermal system I fortunately contacted Plumbsolar ltd and am delighted to say that Kai analysed the problem within minutes of arriving and had resolved it within a couple of hours at a very reasonable cost. Others including the suppliers and the company that commissioned the system had tried and failed to get my system working as it should over a four year period. Since Kai's visit it has been running like a dream. I have already strongly recommended Plumbsolar to friends and I would be pleased to recommend them through Yougen.

Hello Kai Thank you so much for the excellent work you did on my widowed mother's solar water system. After her system initially went wrong some 4 years ago a succession of plumbers have trooped through her home scratched their heads, charged for parts and never been able to get her hot water working. After some research on the internet I found plumbsolar, I emailed you and you replied to it quickly then we spoke on the telephone and even though my mother's home is 50 miles from, you were prepared to drive down to investigate what had gone wrong. I was incredibly impressed that far from dashing in and just turning a few stop cocks and presenting mother with a bill you went up and down between the attic and airing cupboard drawing the system on paper, that was fitted by a now bankrupt company until you fully understand what was fitted to my mother's home and what was going on. We had a significant problem with our solar system. I picked Plumb Solar from an internet search with no idea whether he was good or bad. He arrived promptly at the agreed time. He seemed to know what he was talking about and quickly demonstrated that he knew what he was doing. He serviced and repaired the system, fitting a new expansion tank. He was quick and tidy and left with no mess. I was impressed. My wife was impressed; she likes tidiness! I have asked him to do a regular service and recommended him to my son.

They corrected mistakes made by original installer, relocated the panel thermal sensor which had come loose, undertook the biannual service, re-commissioned the installation and provided MCS certification in time for the RHI incentive. Called in Kai from Plumb Solar to sort out my solar thermal system, which had developed a leak on the roof, after coming across his web site and liking what I saw. I also wanted advice as to what I could do to make the system better. He was extremely knowledgeable and very efficient and also very friendly. He fixed the system and also advised me of future changes I could consider to make it better. I will be getting him back quite soon and am presently waiting for a quote for the other things I discussed with him.Excellent service and very reasonable charges so far and a high standard of workmanship. The installer of our Solar thermal system had closed down and we had a problem with it. We contacted a number of Solar thermal companies that claimed to service systems, however they were only interested in servicing their own installs or new installs. When we contacted Plumb Solar Ltd, they were extremely helpful and happy to service the system. Upon inspection, they quickly identified that we had an air lock and were fixed the problem during that visit. I would be happy to recommend to other people and should we have any further issues with our system, Plumb Solar will be the first people we contact.

There was a good discussion before installation to assess the appropriateness of installing solar thermal and the location of panels. The work was completed in one day. After the installation, I received plenty of advice and instructions about how the system worked, with time for my questions to be answered. I had plenty of back support to apply for the RHP payment.
